Scantek, Inc. founded in Rockville, MD in 1985, started business as wholly owned subsidiary of Norwegian Electronics, a/s. Now Scantek is a US, employee-owned company, and carries multiple lines. It increased its capability from sales to include all services, a separate NVLAP/NIST accredited calibration laboratory, instrument rental, and acoustical and vibration consulting. Richard J. Peppin, P.E., President, runs the company, in charge of quality control and provides overall technical expertise. Gary Fraiman, Vice-president, is responsible for sales and service, and handles all instrument rental and repairs. Debra Stanco, Vice-president, is in charge of all office activities, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and inventory control. Mariana Buzduga, Manager Calibration Laboratory, performs calibrations, oversees all technicians, and responsible for laboratory quality control. Amy St. Aubin, Associate, handles all outgoing paperwork, all administrative issues, and is primary contact at the office. Valentin Buzduga, Calibration Physicist, performs calibrations and does consulting in acoustics and vibration measurements. Javier Albarracin, Calibration Engineer, is responsible calibrations of all electronic instruments.
