RION NA-37 Environmental Sound Monitor
The NA-37 system can be used for groundborne noise monitoring or aircraft noise monitoring. It allows the determination and identification and discrimination among different noise sources and aircraft types. For example, the aircraft unit can detect, identify, and tract aircraft using acoustics and information form the aircraft transponder.
Environmental noise version excludes aircraft noise, and noise from areas outside monitoring angle.

SCA-
PAC1 Portable Aircraft Counter
This
system, consists of an environmental kit, with a RION NL-21 Sound
Level Meter and the Scantek ASNL21 software package which, together,
allows the counting of aircraft take-offs at unattended general
aviation airports.
Use:
The system is set to monitor, for two to three weeks, the runways
of the surveyed airport, with the data being stored on the instrument
compact flash card. At the end of the measuring period, the memory
card is exchanged if further measurements are required. The CF card
is read with PC running the easy-to-use ASNL21 software under Windows
XP™ with Excel™. The data are automatically categorized
and counted and seasonal reports are issued.
Highlights:
- Small, light, compact hardware:
- Easy to use hardware software
- Reasonable accuracy
- Customized reports
- Technical assistance provided

Topsonic
Aircraft
Noise, Track, and Environmental Monitoring
Scantek
works closely with Topsonic, a firm which specializes in development
and installation of all-in-one systems for monitoring aircraft noise,
flight tracks, and environmental quality. We custom design systems
to meet the specific requirements of each airport, implementing
each system with user-friendly, tried-and-tested products bearing
state-of-the-art technologies.
Our team of experts,
with many years of experience in this field, provides direct, personalized
customer service and efficient, reliable realization of projects.
Comprehensive
service, from planning to start-up
As overall contractor,
we provide guidance in specification of measurement station locations
and externally purchased hardware. We coordinate specialist subcontractors,
monitor installation operations, and oversee construction work.
Public relations
benefits and compliance with regulations
Competent noise monitoring and environmental data acquisition, and
data-based reports that instruct and inform community leaders about
environmental measures, build a foundation for increasing public
acceptance of airports.
Throughout the airlines and the aircraft industries, evaluation
of measurement results and recording of flight tracks (by processing
radar data) provide vital decision-making aids regarding implementation
of environmental regulations and improvement of emission values.
When airport expansion is in the planning stage, or when traffic
volume is increasing, Topsonic systems allow new aircraft noise
zones to be calculated on the basis of current and projected noise
pollution and traffic levels. Integration of a geographic information
system (GIS) into the whole permits identification of buildings
and accurate estimating of numbers of residents affected in noise
zones and takeoff flight paths.
The
Systems
Our planning and development work is requirement-oriented, and we
provide complete solutions: monitoring of aircraft noise according
to national and international standards; on-line measurement of
meteorological, air-quality, and waste-water data using state-of-the-art
techniques; display of flight tracks; and detection of corridor
violations. Each system's evaluation center is a PC-based subsystem
using Windows NT standard software, as are its stationary and mobile
measurement stations. This allows effective use of telephone lines
or mobile networks for transferring measurement data and communicating
digitized original sound, and facilitates accurate ascribing of
noise to noise-maker.
Airports' future requires application of integrated PC-based tools
using standard operating systems and allowing cost-effective, user-friendly,
flexible operations based on modular systems. Such systems can easily
be integrated into customers' existing IT structures.
Topsonic solutions are expandable and extensible. They provide interfaces
for further processing and analysis of data by standard office software,
allowing non-specialists to create customer-specific forms, reports,
compilations of statistics, and visualizations.
Ongoing customer contact via system maintenance, user training,
assistance in analyzing new data-gathering tasks, and other service
as needed, has proven important for ensuring the best product performance
and for keeping our systems current as requirements change.
Our
Customers
Our major market includes large international airports as well as
regional airports. Topsonic currently meets the needs of more than
70% of the civil airports in Germany, and technical support by Scantek
makes Topsonic systems available throughout North and South America.
